M+J's Heisman Trophy Watch- Week 4

Baker Mayfield- QB- Oklahoma
Mayfield added another 4 touchdowns through the air in impressive beat down of Tulane. With this performance, Mayfield now has the highest QBR. His team has continued to show that they are ready to compete for a National Championship. His credentials look very well as they begin Big 12 play at winless Baylor.

Up next: Baylor

Mason Rudolph- QB- Oklahoma State
Rudolph finally got the opportunity to impress the country in what was supposed to be a good game. Rudolph and company pounded Pittsburgh on the road where Rudolph passed for 5 touchdowns in an epic blowout. If he played the whole game, he likely would have had more. This performance really boosted his stock as he not only has the second best QBR but has showed everyone that the Cowboys are here to compete for the Big 12 championship and a National Title. Next game vs. TCU gives Rudolph and his team another great chance to make a statement.

Up next: TCU

Lamar Jackson- QB- Louisville
Jackson and the Cardinals had a rough going at home against Clemson. Last year's Heisman winner took a beating but still managed to throw for 317 yards with 3 TDs. His stats are still impressive being a true duel threat. A bounce back is needed here, and good news for Lamar is that Kent State is coming to town.

Up next: Kent State

Saquon Barkley- RB- Penn State
Barkley didn't have a great game running but was a great receiver in an easy win over Georgia State. He didn't get many touches as there was no need to risk injury against this cream puff. This weekend's showdown at Iowa gives Barkley an opportunity to make a statement for himself and his team.

Up next: Iowa

5 Sam Darnold- QB- USC
USC held off Texas in 2OT. Darnold had a great game with 397 yards and 3 TDs. The downside was the two interceptions. He is still very much in this race but needs some style points now and needs to avoid throwing interceptions. However, it is important for his team to keep winning. Next up is a trip to Berkeley to face undefeated Cal.

Up next: Cal

Next 5

- Royce Freeman- RB- Oregon
- Rashaad Penny- RB- San Diego State
- Josh Rosen- QB- UCLA
- Nick Fitzgerald- QB- Mississippi State
- Dante Pettis- WR- Washington
