UPSET WATCH- WEEKEND GAMES

Northern Illinois over Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt has been bad so far, but scoring 38 in a loss to LSU has to be a small glimmer of hope. Northern Illinois has only lost to Nebraska and Utah so far, so they will definitely be ready for this one. The Huskies have to like their chances if it is a low scoring game.

Boston College over Wake Forest

Wake Forest is still undefeated and has looked pretty good so far. BC's lone loss was a blowout home loss to Kansas. This is the ACC where anything can happen as the old ACC with the exception of Clemson is back. BC being a home underdog has to put this one on upset alert. 

Nicholls over Texas State

Texas State is consistently one of the weaker FBS teams each year. Nicholls is a stronger FCS program. Therefore, this is the  best opportunity this week for a FCS over FBS team. We think the odds seem pretty good here.

Georgia Southern over La-Lafayette

GA Southern almost won at Minnesota and are home underdogs against the Ragin' Cajun's. This would be a minor upset, but there is not much to pick from this week.

Oklahoma State over Kansas State

A ranked Kansas State is on the road at Oklahoma State, so it is worth mentioning this as a possible upset. The Wildcats have been more impressive and seems like they could get the job done here, but it is hard to win on the road. Therefore, this could be an upset.

Maryland over Penn State

Maryland is all over place this year which is usually what Maryland is every year. They are good at getting good wins and random losses. Upset seems possible given how well Maryland has been with the exception of their loss to Temple.

Air Force over Boise State

The Falcons scored a huge victory on the road at in state rival Colorado, which had been riding high over their victory over Nebraska. Boise State got ranked for beating a underwhelming Florida State team and has not looked like a Top 25 team yet. Can the Falcons score another big road win?

Appalachian State over North Carolina

North Carolina started great until last weeks loss to Wake Forest. Now, a dangerous App State team comes to town with hopes on an upset here. Mack Brown and company know not to sleep on them, but I am sure App State has been preparing for this one all off season. 

William & Mary over East Carolina

East Carolina has really struggled the last few years and has lost to FCS teams in the past. A fairly strong William &Mary team comes to town with their only loss being to the ranked Virginia Cavaliers in a somewhat competitive fight. The Tribe have been an FBS team before, so they have proven they can do it.

Texas A&M over Auburn

This one is more of an upset in terms of ranking. Both teams are fairly even, and it could go either way. Since the Aggies are home and ranked lower, it is worth mentioning the possibility of a slight upset here.

Western Michigan over Syracuse

It is hard to imagine the Orange starting out 1-3 after the success of last season. However, they have not looked good in any of their games yet. This could be the one that puts them back on track or this could be the upset loss that continues this tailspin. The Broncos are fresh off a demolition of Georgia State. Yes, the same Georgia State that beat Tennessee.

UPSET WATCH- WEEKEND GAMES

Temple over Maryland

The Terrapins have been impressive so far with 2 blowout wins including one over Syracuse. Why would Maryland be on upset watch? Well, last season, the Terps started 2-0 including a win over Texas before getting blown out at home vs Temple. Maryland always seems to great wins and strange losses, so one would think an upset is possible here. Though, the Terps have looked good so far.

Eastern Michigan over Illinois

Eastern Michigan played Kentucky tough before falling out. Illinois hasn't looked too impressive yet after a squeaker over UConn. An upset seems like a possibility here.

New Hampshire over Florida International

FIU has looked like one of the worst FBS teams so far this season after loosing to Western Kentucky who already lost to Central Arkansas. New Hampshire is traditionally a stronger FCS team. This seems like a great possibility for an FCS over FBS upset.

Kentucky over Florida

Kentucky finally ended their losing streak against Florida last season and are hoping to make this a winning streak. Florida looked sloppy in their opening win over Miami. Kentucky has beat 2 of the stronger MAC teams so far and has been somewhat impressive. At least impressive enough to put Florida on upset watch as they head to Lexington to take on the Cats.

Colorado State over Arkansas

The Rams beat the Razorbacks last year and look to do the same this year. The Razorbacks did not look well at all last week against Ole Miss and are on upset alert today. If the Rams can limit turnovers, they will have a chance to win in Fayetteville.

Weber State over Nevada

Nevada started strong with a win over Purdue before losing to Oregon 77-6. Weber State's only loss was 6-0 against 2-0 San Diego State. Weber is a stronger FCS team that shouldn't be slept on. This should be an even match with a potential for an FCS over FBS
