College Football Week 5

UPSET WATCH- Teams that could get upset

Oklahoma State over Texas
The Cowboys are at home and don't want to lose their third game. This might be a pretty safe call.

California over Utah
The Golden Bears are at home and Utah has not faced this tough of an opponent on the road yet. Cal also is out for revenge from last year.

Bowling Green over Eastern Michigan
It's hard to believe that beating Eastern Michigan would be an upset, but the Eagles are surprising 3-1 and are traveling to a Bowling Green team that has looked really bad. However, the Falcons are home, and the Eagles are not used to being the favorite. Therefore, they could let up on the road.
UMass over Tulane
UMass played Mississippi State tough last week. Tulane barely escaped UL-Lafayette. The Minutemen are at hope where weather should play to their advantage.

Arizona over UCLA
The Bruins have owned this series recently. Both teams are coming off to narrow home losses to Stanford and Washington. The Huskies just blew out the Cardinal making Arizona's narrow loss to the Huskies impressive. Therefore, maybe this means something.

UPSET WATCH

South Florida over Florida State
The Bulls are flying under the radar at 3-0 after routing Syracuse in the Carrier Dome. FSU got steamrolled in Louisville last weekend. USF is ready for the their in-state rival. Will the Noles be ready to bounce back against USF in Tampa?

Akron over Appalachian State
The Zips are much improved this season and are feeling confident after blasting Marshall last weekend. App State almost beat Tennessee but got crushed at home against Miami. Will App State be ready to for a road challenge against Akron?

Oregon State over Boise State
The Beavers finally ended their long losing streak last week after almost winning at Minnesota on Week One. Corvalis can be a tricky place for a road team. Boise State had to squeeze by Washington State at home. This could be the upset that most people overlooked.
Central Arkansas over Arkansas State
Arkansas State is 0-3 and Central Arkansas is 2-1. The pressure is on against Central Arkansas for the Red Wolves who are looking for their first win of the season. Central Arkansas on the other hand has nothing to lose against the Red Wolves and will be looking to keep the Arkansas State winless on the season.
Ole Miss over Georgia
Georgia has struggled against inferior opponents the last 2 weeks and now have to go to Ole Miss, who is very desperate for a win. Ole Miss almost beat Alabama at home last week and does not want to fall to 1-3.

College Football Week 3 Upset Watch/Picks

UPSET WATCH

Appalachian State over Miami
App State almost best Tennessee in Rocky Top. Miami comes to town, which does not appear to be as good as Tennessee. The Mountaineers are favorites to win the Sun Belt and have had this game circled for some time now.

Louisville over Florida State
Lamar Jackson has been amazing so far, but he has not had a real test yet. The Seminoles come to town in a very important ACC game for both. The Cards are at a home, which could give them the ultimate edge in the long run.

East Carolina over South Carolina
The Pirates are fresh off their victory over NC State and are not done proving to their crush (The Big 12) that they belong. However, they are at South Carolina for this one. The Gamecocks have struggled on offense lately and are still rebuilding, so the upset bid is possible in this one.
Western Michigan over Illinois
Not sure how much of an upset this would be since Western Michigan is off to a great start and Illinois is coming off a blowout home loss to UNC. The Bronocos already defeated one Big Ten team on the road. Why not another?
Oklahoma over Ohio State
This is a huge resume enhancing game for both teams as they hope to make the playoff. Oklahoma needs this game much more as they don't want to fall to 1-2 likely ending their playoff hopes. The Big 12 also needs Oklahoma to win here to help increase the value of their potential regular season champ. The good news for them is that the game is in Norman, and the Sooners know what is at stake.

College Football Week 2 Picks

UPSET WATCH

Ohio over Kansas
Kansas won their first game in quite some time. Ohio just lost to Texas State, but Kansas has not beat an FBS opponent since Iowa State in 2014.

Portland State over San Jose State
San Jose State has been one of the worst FBS teams the last couple years. Portland State is a Top 25 FCS team who beat Washington State last season. This game smells like an upset.

East Carolina over NC State
The Pirates are home against their in-state rivals where they are a sliht underdog. This could go either way, so do not be surprised if East Carolina defends their home turf in this one.
McNeese over Louisiana-Lafayette
Louisiana-Lafayette got blown out of their home by Boise State last week. McNeese State has the history of defeating FBS foes just ask USF. McNeese is also ranked #11 in the FCS poll.
Middle Tennessee over Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt lost at home to a rebuilding South Carolina team. Middle Tennessee has been one of the better C-USA teams lately and have nothing to lose against their in-state rival.

College Football Week 1 Upset Watch/Picks

Houston over Oklahoma
I picked Houston to beat Florida State last year and believe they can carry momentum into this season and start the fall off win a huge win over the Sooners, which would look really good on a resume for a Group of 5 team not only trying to crash the Playoff but making their case for a spot in the Big 12. The game is in Houston. Should be a great one.

South Carolina State over UCF
UCF was winless last year. The pressure is on the Golden Knights to start this season off with a win.

Southern Miss over Kentucky
Last year the Golden Eagles were much improved playing with decent showings against Mississippi State, Nebraska, and Washington. Kentucky started strong last year, but really struggled down the stretch. The pressure is on Mark Stoops and the Wildcats to win this game.
Northern Iowa over Iowa State
The Panthers are a solid FCS team and have knocked off FBS teams before. They have nothing to lose as the pressure is on the Cyclones to beat their instate rival.
Ole Miss over Florida State
The Seminoles were arguably the most overrated team in college football last season. They start the season against the Rebels in Orlando and need to prove they are worth their number #4 ranking. Chad Kelly and company will be ready for the challenge.

College Football Week 1 Upset Watch

Thursday's Games

Maine over UConn-
UConn struggles on offense, and Maine usually has a pretty good team for an FCS foe. Don't be surprised if the Black Bears prevail.

Appalachian State over Tennessee
Tennessee has fairly high preseason expectations which can still be achieved regardless of the outcome of this one. It is important to note that the reigning Sun Belt Champs return most of their team and have the tendency of being dangerous. This could be the shocker of Week 1.

Montana State over Idaho-
Idaho has been bad lately, so why not. The Vandals have struggled against everyone (FBS and FCS) lately.
