M+J's College Football Upset Alert/Picks- Week 9

 UPSET WATCH

West Virginia over Kansas State
K-State has rebounded well since losing their opener to Arkansas State. They travel to West Virginia for a tough test. Crowd may not be a factor, but travel is.

Rutgers over Indiana
The Hoosiers were the recipients of a bad call that gave them an upset win over Penn State. Rutgers looked sharp in an opening win at Michigan State. Rutgers is at home, and Greg Schiano may have brought the magic with him. Let's see if they continue to improve.

Penn State over Ohio State
Can the Nittany Lions bounce back and upset Ohio State to prevent falling to 0-2? The Buckeyes know they can't slip up if they want to be in the Play-Off.

Charlotte over Duke
Charlotte has two narrow defeats, and Duke's only win is against lowly Syracuse. Could still be a longshot but I think it is worth a shot to mention.

Texas Tech over Oklahoma
Though the Sooners are ranked again, they still have not looked too impressive. Beating TCU was nice, but a road trip to Texas Tech could be dangerous. Can the Sooners continue to win and start playing up to their preseason hype?

M+J's College Football Upset Alert/Picks- Week 8

UPSET WATCH

Ole Miss over Auburn
Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss offense looked good against BAMA. Auburn has struggled. This should be a shootout that is anyone's game. Who will out duel the other?

Iowa State over Oklahoma State
Since losing to surprisingly better than expected Louisiana, Iowa State has not lost. This will be Oklahoma State's toughest challenge yet. Will Cyclones continue to roll or will they Cowboys remain unbeaten?

Minnesota over Michigan
A big game to open the Big 10 with two ranked teams here. The Wolverines have struggled in big games. Will the Gophers be able to continue their momentum from last year? Not a big upset here if Minnesota wins though.

SMU over Cincinnati
A huge game in the AAC with playoff and New Year's Six hopes on the line. SMU is at home. The crowd may not be too much of a factor but maybe the familiar field with lead SMU in this upset between two ranked teams.

Chattanooga over Western Kentucky
The Hilltoppers have not been great this season, and there are not too many candidates this week, so why not??? Current Chicago Bear,  Buster Skrine's, Alma Mater could be a tricky test here. Can the Mocs score an FCS over FBS win?

M+J's College Football Upset Alert/Picks- Week 7

 UPSET WATCH

Georgia over Alabama
Nick Saban has never lost to a former assistant. Will this be the first time? Alabama's defense really struggled last week as Georgia's defense has been sharp so far. Can Alabama's defense step up? Will Georgia become the team to beat in the SEC?

UTSA over Army
UTSA almost beat BYU last week. Army's only loss is against Cincinnati. This should be a good one in San Antonio. Expect a lower scoring game where the offense that makes the big plays in the 4th quarter will win the game. Can the Roadrunners knock off Army?

South Carolina over Auburn
The Gamecocks looked good last week against Vanderbilt and will try to ride the momentum against the Tigers. Auburn barely got by Arkansas last week and will have a road test in Columbia. After almost beating Tennessee week 1, can the Gamecocks beat a ranked opponent?

East Carolina over Navy
The Pirates blasted South Florida last week as Navy as struggled some this season. Besides the comeback against Tulane, the Midshipmen haven't looked too great. This game gives East Carolina a chance to finally start climbing out of the American basement. Can Navy avoid the upset?

Liberty over Syracuse
The Flames are actually favored against the Orange but Liberty is still fairly new to the FBS. An opportunity arrives for Hugh Freeze and Liberty for a win against the ACC. The Orange hasn't looked great this year. Can Syracuse give the Liberty their first loss?

M+J's College Football Week 6 Upset Watch/Picks

  UPSET WATCH

Oklahoma over Texas
It's hard to imagine having to pick Oklahoma as an upset winner, but Texas is the ranked team here. It is also hard to imagine the Sooners losing three in a row. Could they really lose three in a row?

Boston College over Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh has not been too impressive, and Boston College has been mediocre. Not too many many great choices this week for upsets, but Boston College at home in front of their invisible crowd seems like a possible upset pick this week.

Western Kentucky over Marshall
Marshall upset App State earlier this season and was ranked until the Big Ten and Pac-12 came back into play. Since there are not many good options this week, this possible upset is worth noting since Marshall is on the road. Though, crowds aren't really a factor this season.

Virginia Tech over North Carolina
North Carolina seems a bit high at #8. This could be their time to shine. It also could be VA Tech's time to score a big road win. Can the Tar Heels prove they are worthy of their ranking?

Texas A&M over Florida
Not feeling this one too much, but there is not too many choices as mentioned. The Aggies are at home, but the 12th man cannot make it. The Aggies did not look too great last week vs Bama, but it is Bama. The Gators have looked pretty strong, but in 2020, almost anything goes.

M+J's College Football Week 4 Upset Watch/Picks

 UPSET WATCH

Iowa State over Oklahoma
The Cyclones bounced back against TCU last week as Oklahoma was upset by Kansas State. How will the Sooners respond? Can the Cyclones continue to build momentum? This is a critical game for both teams to stay in the Big 12 race.

TCU over Texas
The Longhorns defense was horrible last week and they almost lost to Texas Tech. Overtime was needed for the win. The Horned Frogs are looking to bounce back against an in-state rival following last week's loss to Iowa State. Will the Texas defense step up this week?

Jacksonville State over Florida State
An FCS team has yet to beat an FBS team mainly due to the lack of games. The Gamecocks have been a tough out at times in the past for FBS opponents and are looking to continue Florida State's slide. The Seminoles have not looked well at all this season. Do they win their first game this weekend?

Auburn over Georgia
The Bulldogs did not look well in the 1st half before dominating the Razorbacks in the 2nd Half. They need a full game Saturday in order to beat the Tigers. The defense will likely win the game here. Whose offense prevails?

SMU over Memphis
In terms of rankings, this would be an upset. However, both teams appear to be similar on paper with an even spread. Expect a lot of offense here as the defense that steps up will likely pull out the win.
