M+J's Heisman Trophy Watch- Week 3

1 Lamar Jackson- QB- Louisville
Jackson once again led his team to victory away from home. In two games Jackson has 5 passing touchdowns and 3 rushing touchdowns with a total of 1,010 yards. He also has zero interceptions and only one fumble. With wins over North Carolina and Purdue, Jackson and the Cardinals return home for their home opener against the reigning National Champion Clemson. A huge opportunity awaits this Saturday for Jackson to enhance his Heisman campaign and to add a marque win for their Playoff resume.

Up next: Clemson

2 Josh Rosen- QB- UCLA
Rosen continued his hot 4th quarter from the comeback win over Texas A&M by absolutely shredding Hawaii's defense with 5 passing touchdowns and 329 yards. With 9 touchdowns and zero interceptions on the season, Rosen is putting together a strong Heisman campaign so far and looks very confident and ready to compete in the Pac-12. His first road test of the year awaits this weekend at Memphis.

Up next: Memphis

Baker Mayfield- QB- Oklahoma
Mayfield owned the 2nd Half at the Horseshoe in Columbus on Saturday. Baker threw for 386 yards with 3 touchdowns to collect the biggest win of the season for any team. With a Game of Thrones like celebration in the middle of the horseshoe at the conclusion of the game, Mayfield is very much in the Heisman race and also has his team ready to compete for a National Championship. The Green Wave visit Norman this weekend before the Sooners open Big 12 play.

Up next: Tulane

4 Sam Darnold- QB- USC
A great bounce back game for the Trojans as Darnold found his stride from last season in a big victory over the Stanford Cardinal. He threw for 316 yards and 4 touchdowns. His biggest negative so far is 4 interceptions on the season including two against the Cardinal. Completing about 75% of his passes on the season and leading his team to a 2-0 start lands him currently in 4th place. Texas visits the Coliseum this Saturday. An opportunity awaits for Darnold to enhance his numbers and add a victory over a Power 5 team.

Up next: Texas

Barkley didn't have his best game but was still very consistent averaging 6.3 yards per carry in a good win over the Pitt Panthers. He currently has rushed for 260 yards with 3 touchdowns.
